Ethical Encounters Workshop #2

The second workshop on Ethical Encounters in HCI will be held on 7th December in Melbourne, Australia, as part of the OzCHI 2015 conference.

We invite researchers working in sensitive settings to submit position papers of up to 4 pages (in the OzCHI 2015 template) that describe experiences such as:

• Challenges adhering to formal ethics procedures
• Challenges that emerged in the doing of research
• Emotional dilemmas researchers have faced and how these have been addressed
• Sensitive settings and blurred research boundaries
• The processes of obtaining informed consent and ensuring voluntary participation when working with marginalised groups
• Introducing new and disruptive technologies into sensitive settings

Submissions should be sent in .pdf format to [email protected]. Position papers will be reviewed by a committee of experts and selected on the basis of relevance to the workshop, quality of presentation, and potential to stimulate discussion. At least one author of each accepted submission must register for the workshop.

• Submission: 2nd October 2015
• Notification of acceptance: 9th October 2015
• Workshop day: 7th December 2015
